Quiet Luxury: The loudest trend this season

As confirmed by Vogue and other well-known fashion houses, “Quiet Luxury” is set to be 2023’s loudest trend for the current and new seasons, and probably the most strategic trend ever. But why is everyone so excited about it? What does quiet luxury even mean and how do we recognize it? This blog will help you understand the quiet luxury trend and guide you through everything you need to know about it, from its definition to its main features with examples from our collection.

Elevated basics

Elevated basic is a piece worth investing in. This top-quality, seemingly casual piece of clothing is actually something to go back to repeatedly which can be worn with lots of different outfit combinations. Even though it’s basic, usually in neutral colours, it somehow makes every outfit look chicer. Some examples of elevated basics are fine knit tops like round neck jumpers, cotton button-up shirts or plain cotton t-shirts in neutral colours, a pair of classic, high-quality jeans, or a pair of white sneakers.

Top-quality fabrics

Quiet luxury is very much about quality and good quality materials that will make the piece last for longer. Materials like cashmere, silk, or even cotton and wool are often associated with the quiet luxury trend as it’s all about investing in timeless pieces rather than jumping on trends and changing the whole wardrobe every season. Invest in a classic silk shirt or cashmere knitwear to start building your quiet luxury collection.

No logos (or understated logos)

As the name suggests, “quiet luxury” is all about a more low-key approach to fashion. It features no logos or understated, tiny logos instead of flashy monograms and logos we saw in the industry in the past. The piece might feature some characteristics typical for the brand that only those in the know will recognise, like this Ermanno Scervino grey jeans with typical brand details on the side which help us recognize that the piece is from their collection, even though it doesn’t feature any logos.

Layering

“Quiet luxury” pieces are perfect for layering. Layering is an amazing way to mix and play with fabrics and shapes and add form and movement to your outfits, making them interesting and chic, even though they’re built from basics. Fine knit tank top, lightweight cashmere cardigan, and nonchalant cotton trousers worn with a boxy blazer on top and a belt to top up the outfit.
